Almost Minimal

WELCOME TO MY WORLD, OR AT LEAST THE VISUAL WORLD I HAVE CREATED.

This carefully curated magazine is meant to encapsulate you in all that is my aesthetic. I like to see myself as a sleek minimalist who believes the negative space on a page speaks louder than the positive.

While that might be true, the other half of me always breaks through to cause a little mess. I’ve chosen to call myself an aspiring minimalist because minimalism is too contained for me. I want to be someone who specializes in organized chaos. Minimalism with personality.

Mock Magazine

Mock Magazine

We were instructed to make a magazine spread about a specific designer. I based mine on Karel Martens. After researching his work and reading articles about him I took inspiration from eye magazine. His heavy use of grid and knowing when to break it allowed Martens to create beautiful experimental compositions. I wanted my spreads to reflect that structure and playfulness.
